OUR SCIENCE

Research

From nutrient sensing to metabolic vulnerabilities in cancer.

NUTRIENT SIGNALING

How do cells sense nutrients?

We study noncanonical functions of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases, focusing on how LARS1 links nutrient availability to mTORC1 signaling and metabolism.

MITOCHONDRIAL METABOLISM

How does glutamine transport reshape cancer?

We investigate SLC1A5_var-mediated mitochondrial glutamine transport and its connections to metabolic reprogramming, tumor growth and hypoxia-associated chemoresistance.

IMMUNOMETABOLISM

How does metabolism regulate immune memory?

We explore the link between mitochondrial glutamine metabolism and macrophage trained immunity, and investigate metabolic control of antitumor protection in experimental models.

THERAPEUTIC DISCOVERY

Can metabolic vulnerabilities become therapeutic targets?

We combine chemical biology, structural modeling and experimental validation to target nutrient sensing and transport, exploring cancer glutamine dependency as a therapeutic opportunity.
